Was planning on taking my 4 yo out to Mansfield Park on the 2nd, but saw the wind forecast and decided to go a day early. Blue skies and calm waters. Got lines in the water from the bank at around 11. Got zero bites over about 3 hours. Using dip bait, casting out as far as I could. Weather was perfect temp wise in the low 70's. Breeze picked up around noon. 4 yo had fun just hanging out, checking out the minnows and chatting with his new friend "Jim" who was their bass fishing on the bank. I wasn't expecting much, but wanted to get him out there for his first catfishing trip. I'd rather do it now with that kind of weather and small crowds then the dead of summer.
