Just passing along a report from a friend,

East Bay is fishing slow all the way around, south shore producing the best bite in the bay (which isn't much right now)

Fishing the surf has been excellent (but crowded). Look for birds working and fish the edges of the bait balls within the first gut. There is so much bait in the surf you actually don't want to fish the thick of it, hit the perimeter and surrounding areas void of bait. Black tips are plentiful in the second gut and beyond with trout/reds in the first gut.
They reported full limits 3-days in a row throwing tails in a variety of colors with trout to 24" and several upper-slot bumper lips. A handful of smacks on plastic also.
Live bait yielded sharks and other trash fish.
